Our oils are produced from high-quality base oils and additives approved by the world’s largest lubricant oil companies. The packing and delivery process is closely monitored and controlled to ensure that products are free from impurities and they conform to international standards. We will try to explain to the reader how to store Qone oils and keep them clean, in good condition and efficient improper storing and handling may reduce the effectiveness of lubricants and render them more prone to damage. If such damage occurs, repair will require extra costs and take so much time and eventually affect the efficiency of production process.
Oil storage
It is preferable to store lubricants inside a spacious warehouse which has enough areas inside and outside. This is to help keep lubricants free from impurities. The warehouse should be clean and dust-free, especially after oil use. Here are some more factors that should be taken into consideration:
- Accessibility to delivery vehicles.
- Suitable areas to load and unload vehicles.
- Enough space for unloading containers
Storage in open areas
Lubricants can be stored in open areas for a limited time without being affected by weather conditions. However, it is important to keep them away from high temperature and water leaks.
Liquid or humidity around the cap of the lubricant container can be eliminated by a proper suction device. If a drum is partially full, water will be condensed and in this case the lubricant should be stored inside, not in open areas.
Small containers of lubricants should be treated with special care because they are not designed to tolerate extreme weather conditions. They should be kept away from sunlight, inside covered areas.
Drum
208 – liter Qone lubricant drum
To avoid any injury, stick to the following steps which are considered the best ones to
handle lubricant drums
Use a forklift
Use two-wheel truck
Use three-wheel truck
Bottles should be kept in horizontal position if there is no sufficient space they can be lined horizontally on the pallets inside the warehouse.
Bulk storage
this type of storage has several benefits it improve sufficiency of products, reduces storage costs and possibility of contamination, and makes the inventory process easier.
It is advisable that storage tanks be kept inside (covered areas); however, they can be stored in open areas after ensuring that they are firmly closed to avoid water leaks
Put labels on all tanks and divide them into groups. You can call the Qone’s technician
for more support.
Delivery
All delivered bottles should be checked in terms of quality. Make sure all bottles have
information labels and double check the quantity and temperature of products.
The customer should sign the delivery slip as a proof that he accepts the delivered
quantity.
Grease storage
Grease should be stored carefully and properly.
If grease is mixed with dirt, it will turn into a corrosive; therefore, grease guns should be
cleaned before loading. The loading process should take place in a clean environment.
Grease should not be stored for a long time. It should be stirred every now and then. The
old grease should be moved to the front part and should be used before the new grease.
Taking care of warehouse
Lubricants should be stored in a clean environment free from contaminants.
The warehouse should be cleaned on a continuous basis and staff should be encouraged
to always maintain a clean environment.
Once containers have been delivered, the areas around the caps should be wiped clean
and the labels should be checked. Any change in color or smell should be reported.
– To avoid contamination, replace caps after opening containers.
A tray should be put underneath each container before cleaning it so that any liquid
which leaks should fall into the tray.
After emptying containers, do not reuse them to store water, fuel, or other types of
lubricants. This will help prevent contamination. Sometimes, empty containers are used to
store used lubricants or other liquids then they end up being mixed up for new lubricants.
Fire precautionary measures
Having a well organized lubricant warehouses make the possibility of fire breaking out remote
check the lubricant flash point lubricants with flash point over 61 centigrade not require fire percutation however they should be stored away from high temperature heating systems and inflamable materials most lubricants have a flash point over 61 centigrade
the following list should help reduce fire risks.
Clean any drops of oil falling on the ground immediately
Waste material should be kept in metal containers in small quantity.
Ignition tools should be used if there is good ventilation.
Health and safety
Lubricants which have Qone trademark on them can be safely stored. Caution should be
taken not to let lubricants contact skin or eyes. Inhaling vapors coming from lubricants
should be avoided.
Please stick to the following precautionary procedures:
Repair shops
Overalls, gloves, etc should be used when operating any machines to reduce risks of
contact with oil.
Proper arrangements should be taken to eliminate oil and lubricant vapors.
Proper cleaning materials and tools should be available. This includes basins, soaps,
towels, skin cleaners.
First aid kit should be available.
Any spill should be cleaned immediately.
Please always remember that a safe environment means a safe and clean air to all humanbeings.
